Grant for Fire Officials
You are invited to the first IFSA hosted Fire Sprinkler Americas Conference scheduled for 5-6 February 2014 in beautiful Panama City, Panama. This conference will be the first automatic fire sprinkler dedicated educational conference to be held in Latin America. With two days of informative presentations centered between a one- and a half-day pre-event fire-pump/controller educational class, and post-event training on CPVC, Inspection Testing & Maintenance, and FM Storage rules, this is a week not to miss.
Hear first-hand from world-renowned experts in the field of automatic fire sprinklers. Director General Pablo Enrique Tuñón is expected to welcome everyone to the City of Panama and provide an update on recent sprinkler activities such as high-rise retrofit. Latin American sprinkler associations such as AMRACI (Mexico), ABspk (Brazil), and NFPA Mexico will be represented respectively by Victor Espinola, Jonas Roter, and Antonio Macias. Topics on Day One will include Promoting Sprinkler Requirements, Organizing Support for Fire Sprinklers, and analyzing the Aftermath of a Major Fire Tragedy, among others.
Day Two will open with Jim Shannon of NFPA and will focus more on technical aspects such as NFPA 13 Storage Protection, Types and Calculations of Standpipe Systems, and Fire Pumps and close out with a forward-thinking discussion of a fire sprinkler network in Latin America.
Also offered will be a special tour of Panama City, designed for the pleasure of spouse and guests during the technical sessions, and an optional closing banquet where you will be able to enjoy dinner while watching ships pass through the world famous Panama Canal.
