Important Notice for Iowa Fire Extinguishing Contractors

Administrative Rules implementing Iowa Code Chapter 100 are effective July 1, 2006.  The Administrative Rules stipulate that no person shall act as a Fire Extinguishing System Contractor in the State of Iowa without being certified by the Iowa State Fire Marshal’s Office.

Contractors are required to apply for certification by August 14, 2006 and will be required to be certified by October 1, 2006, in order to do business legally in Iowa.

Golf Outing:
Both the Iowa Fire Sprinkler Contractor's Association and the NFSA, Minnesota chapters have golf outings planned to benefit burn victims.  The IFSCA outing is planned for August 22 and will benefit the University of Iowa Burn Center and the Minnesota outing will be September 11 to beneft the Regions Hosptial Burn Center.  Minnesota's Burn Aid has so far donated over $500,000 tot he Center.

Fire Sprinkler Incentive Act:  HR 1824 - NFSA Great Plains Regional Office receives letter of support from Congressman Sam Graves (MO. 6th District).  A copy of the letter received may be seen by clicking on the "Fire Sprinkler Incentive Act" on the NFSA home page.
