Goal of Regional Operations:
To
maximize membership services through the development of an exceptional
Regional Operations interdependent team.
Meeting Members’ Needs:
Creating New Markets.
Regional
managers have formed relationships with key officials within their region
to help facilitate the passage of state and local laws, ordinances and
code adoptions that result in creating new fire sprinkler markets.
High-rise retrofit, educational
facilities, student housing, residential,
elderly housing, and area and height threshold requirements are examples
of new markets currently being addressed by Regional Operations staff.
Protecting Existing Markets.
Often attempts are made to eliminate fire sprinkler requirements in specific
occupancies or communities. Regional Operations provides the necessary
barriers to this uninformed activity and calls upon the vast resources
of NFSA to assist when necessary. High-rise retrofit, educational
facilities, residential, and numerous attempts to raise the bar on
area and height threshold requirements are examples of protecting existing
markets currently being addressed by Regional Operations staff.
Improving the Business
Environment. NFSA recognizes
that improving the business environment is also a key role of its Regional
Operations staff. Workers’ Compensation reform, tax reduction and
repeals, retainage law revisions, lien law revision, permit and inspection
practices, and AHJ conflict resolution are examples of current Regional
Operations activity in the Business Environment category. For more detail
information, please go to Controlling
the Business Environment.
As issues evolve within a region, Regional
Managers call upon their peers to share experiences and knowledge on this
issue. This interdependence creates a more informed and efficient
membership services team.
Members wishing to champion an issue or
activity should contact their Regional Manager or the Director of Regional
Operations.
