April 9, 2013//1-Day Fire Pumps for Fire Protection (BBS2013-140)

This program covers the principals of hydraulics, types of pumps and controllers, sizing a pump, acceptance testing of the fire pump. The information used in this program comes from NFPA 20-99 and the Fire Pump Handbook.

PARTICIPANT WILL NEED A CURRENT COPY OF NFPA 20.

April 10, 2013//1-Day Hydraulics for Fire Protection (BBS2013-138)

This seminar covers the procedures for hydraulic calculations per NFPA 13. We also cover the subjects of classifying hazards and commodities, also covered is the design options. The design options that will be covered are area density, room design, residential, Large Drop and ESFR. The use of the area density curves and their reduction and increases in design area is covered.

PARTICIPANT SHOULD COME PREPARED WITH A CURRENT COPY OF NFPA 13 and scientific calculator.

April 11, 2013//1-Day Standpipe Systems (BBS2013-197)

This one day program provides the participant with the requirements for design, layout, installation and acceptance testing of standpipe systems using NFPA 14 Standard for the Installation of Standpipe and Hose Systems. The program also covers the basic requirements for when the International Building Code and NFPA 5000 require standpipe systems. The program details the five types and three classes of standpipe systems.

PARTICIPANT SHOULD COME PREPARED WITH CURRENT COPIES OF NFPA 13, NFPA 14 & NFPA 24.
