Target Audience: This seminar is intended for fire protection system designers and layout technicians with more than two years of experience in water-based systems that want to expand their knowledge abilities.  It is an excellent program for people with NICET Level II and Level III certification in Fire Sprinkler System Layout and Detail who want to take their certification to the next level.  Code enforcement authorities will also benefit from the material discussed each week.  Participants are expected to know basic math, basic hydraulics and the use of the Hazen-Williams formula for friction loss.

Description: This program covers a number of advanced topics over a 15-week period including the spacing and location of storage sprinklers, hydraulic calculations (Darcy-Weisbach, Velocity Pressures, and Hardy Cross loop analysis), fire pump sizing (for situations with multiple pumps and situations with multiple water supplies), and a variety of other advanced installation issues.  Due to the advanced nature of the program, it is an excellent study session for those people seeking NICET Level III and Level IV certification.

Seminar Format(s):
A lecture is broadcast live each week for about 90 minutes with the participant having the ability to watch live and participate with the instructor including asking questions and getting answers.  The lectures will be recorded so that participants do not need to participate live if their schedules do not permit.  The lectures will be available for a limited period of time in order to keep the participant moving through the process.  After watching the lecture, the participant will be given a homework assignment related to the subject of the lecture.  The instructor will grade the homework and return it prior to the next class with comments to help the participant understand the subject better if there were any misconceptions.
