SPRINKLER PROTECTION FOR RESIDENTIAL OCCUPANCIES
This program covers the use and application of residential fire sprinklers over a 9 lesson period. The history and development of residential sprinklers will be reviewed and the participants will learn how residential sprinklers differ from traditional sprinklers. NFPA has written three installation standards that could apply to residential sprinklers: NFPA 13, NFPA 13R and NFPA 13D. As the requirements pertaining to residential sprinklers differ from standard to standard, each of the standards will be discussed. The issues discussed in this program will provide attendees with vital information on how to properly choose the correct standard and apply the specific requirements for residential sprinklers. This skill is a fundamental aspect of sprinkler system layout and is a “must know” for all layout technicians dealing with residential occupancies.
Due to this programs far reaching relevance in the field of residential fire sprinkler system layout, it is a valuable resource for those beginning their career in sprinkler system layout and also for those technicians who would like to expand their understanding of NFPA 13, NFPA 13R and NFPA 13D requirements.
