As residential fire sprinkler systems become more widely recognized and adopted by communities it becomes more important than ever to understand the requirements for proper design and installation. NFPA 13D, Standard for the Installation of Fire Sprinkler Systems in One- and Two-Family Dwellings and Manufactured Homes is the primary standard governing design and installation for residential sprinklers. Understanding the requirements of the standard and how they are applied is the key to a solid enforcement program. This one-day seminar will guide the participant through the requirements of NFPA 13D and identify how the standard is applied as well as the alternative approaches, such as IRC P2904.
