One and Two Family Sprinkler Installation, Where Does Your Community Stand!

While sprinkler system installations continue to grow in commercial occupancies, sprinkler system installations have also been on the rise for one and two family dwellings in communities all around the United States. Some of these communities have required residential sprinkler systems by passing ordinances or laws, while other communities have offered appealing incentive programs for installing sprinkler systems voluntarily, usually involving tax breaks, building densities, and/or infrastructure changes.

Tables 1 lists the communities in the United States that have incentive programs for residential sprinkler installation (in one and two family dwellings), while Table 2 lists the communities in the United States that require sprinkler protection (in one and two family dwellings).

Note, these tables represent data that was gathered by NFSA Staff and outside resources. While this information is accurate, it may not include all communities that require sprinkler protection for one and two family dwellings. If you have any additional information that would help expand this list, please contact us at NFSA.
