Tim Sendelbach
is a 29-year student and educator of the fire and emergency services, having previously served as editor-in-chief for FireRescue Magazine and Tim is a past president of the International Society of Fire Service Instructors (ISFSI) and has served as an Assistant Fire Chief with the North Las Vegas, Nev., Fire Department, as the Chief of Training for Savannah, Ga., Fire & Emergency Services, and as Assistant Fire Chief for Missouri City, Texas, Fire & Rescue Services. Tim has earned a master’s degree in leadership from Bellevue University, bachelor’s degrees in fire administration and arson, and an associate’s degree in emergency medical care from Eastern Kentucky University.


Kevin Freiberg
, author of Be a Person of Impact, Do Something Now, Nanovation and Boom!, Guts! and Nuts! will inspire us and connect what he has learned from other corporate success companies to our fire sprinkler industry.

John Barylick
is an attorney who represented victims in numerous wrongful death and personal injury cases arising from the Station nightclub fire.  His work was instrumental in amassing 176 million dollars in settlements from persons and corporations responsible for the fire.

Mr. Barylick is a frequent lecturer at fire protection, medical and legal seminars and is the recipient of the 2006 Rhode Island Trial Lawyers Association Award for Professionalism

Tom Alafat
Senior consultant and principal with FMI, management consultants to the construction industry 

Tom co-leads FMI’s Center for Strategic Leadership as well as FMI's Executive Coaching Practice.

Tom's primary focus is helping senior leaders assess and develop their leadership skills through individual coaching and targeted skill development. Tom helps leaders attract, retain, and develop employees by learning to effectively set a clear direction, align people and resources, and inspire and motivate employees. He also equips leaders with the coaching and mentoring skills needed to raise up the next generation of leaders.


He earned his bachelor of science degree in business administration from the University of New Hampshire, a master of arts in counseling from Denver Seminary and a second master of arts in counseling from Colorado Christian University. The Board of Licensed Professional Examiners in Colorado licenses him.


Tom has a Professional Certified Coach (PCC) designation from the International Coach Federation (ICF). The ICF is the leading global organization dedicated to advancing the coaching profession by setting high standards, providing independent certification and building a worldwide network of credentialed coaches.


James Golinveaux

Senior Fellow - Water Fire Suppression Products


With 30 years of experience in the fire protection industry including both contracting and manufacturing, Mr. Golinveaux is currently a Senior Fellow of Water Suppression Products for Tyco Fire Protection Products. His current role applies his experience globally in the fire protection industry to develop advancements in water-based fire protection devices and systems. He currently holds 12 US Patent families in Automatic Sprinkler Technologies. James is a current member of the NFPA Standards Council, a past member or the Board of Trustees for the Fire Protection Research Foundation, as well as multiple other Boards and Councils including the Factory Mutual Advisory, AFSA, NFSA, International Fire Sprinkler Association and the Fire Sprinkler Association of Brazil.


Mr. Golinveaux is also a subject matter expert for past two editions of the NFPA Fire Protection Handbook and the NFPA 13 Handbook on Storage and Residential Sprinklers.  He has also served on NFPA 13 Technical Committee for the past 18 years and has chaired the storage task group for the last 13 years. Additionally he is a technical committee member of NFPA 88A, 101 and 5000.           


Matt Klaus 
Principal Fire Protection Engineer at the National Fire Protection Association

Matt is responsible for NFPA documents addressing commissioning, integrated system testing and automatic sprinkler systems. He presently holds a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering as well as a masters degree in Fire Protection Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute. He is a member of the Salamander Honorary Fire Protection Engineering Society.

George D. Bogris

Whitney & Bogris, LLP.

Mr. Bogris has extensive experience in the defense of litigation involving fire suppression/alarm systems, product liability, construction, professional malpractice, automobile and premises liability, and general insurance defense and coverage litigation. He has successfully represented clients in matters involving sprinkler discharges and system failures, severe personal injury and death claims, large-scale construction defect and delay claims, asbestos exposure, heavy-truck collision claims, and industrial accident cases.

Mr. Bogris has also represented clients in various administrative settings and has extensive appellate experience involving claims including attorney and accountant malpractice, consumer lending laws, abuse of process, and insurance coverage.  In addition, Mr. Bogris has experience representing personal injury plaintiffs in select matters, including the successful representation of the family of the victim of a mall parking lot homicide and representation of a plaintiff in a false arrest and malicious prosecution matter.

A significant aspect of Mr. Bogris’s practice involves providing proactive counsel to clients in the fire and life-safety industry regarding contract issues, standards compliance issues, as well as providing general risk-management and risk avoidance advice. He is a member of the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), the American Fire Sprinkler Association (AFSA) and the National Fire Sprinkler Association (NFSA).

In addition to his practice with the firm, Mr. Bogris is a certified mediator for the Circuit Court of Baltimore County and a member of the Peer Review Committee of the Maryland Attorney Grievance Commission.
