The Governor's Office News Release States:

 

   "Sacramento - Governor Gray Davis today (November 27, 2000) announced the

   appointment of John J. Tennant as State Fire Marshal for the Department of

   Forestry and Fire Protection. The governor also announced the appointment

   of  Nancy Wolfe as Assistant State Fire Marshal. Mr. Tennant, 52, of Los Angeles,

   is a Fire Captain for the City of Pasadena Fire Department, a position he has held

   since 1977. He is a career firefighter, having spent more than 28-years working in

   fire suppression and fire prevention. Mr. Tennant is a member of the Pasadena Fire Fighters

   Association, California Professional Firefighters, the National Fire Protection Association,

   and the International Association of Fire Fighters. Mr. Tennant will receive a salary of

   $108,753. This position requires Senate confirmation.

 

   Nancy Wolfe, 47, of Sacramento, is Chief of Fire Prevention in the State

   Fire Marshal's Office. She has been with the Office of the State Fire

   Marshal since 1970, and has been a manager since 1986. Ms. Wolfe has

   served as a member of the California Fire Chief's Association and the National

   Association of Pipeline Safety Representatives. She will receive a salary

   of $93,816. This appointment does not require Senate confirmation."
