RECIPE FOR MARINARA A LA VINIELLO

 

INGREDIENTS:

 

One Can of Italian Plum Tomatoes with basil. (Do not use crushed tomatoes or puree)

Virgin olive oil

Fresh Garlic thinly sliced

Fresh Basil

Oregano

Sea or Kosher salt

Black Pepper

 

In a skillet (medium heat), add oil. After heating the oil, add garlic, basil and some salt and pepper. (If you burn the garlic start over)

 

Add Plum Tomatoes sliced in half with fork or knife.

 

Add half can of water.

 

Add oregano.

 

Bring to a boil and then lower heat (add more basil in last ten minutes of cooking) cover and cook for 30 minutes.

 

Re-season to taste.

 

Boil one pound of pasta any kind.  BE SURE TO COOK AL DENTE - drain and add Marinara sauce.

 

Serve with grated cheese!
