The
National Fire Sprinkler Assoc. (NFSA) Is Offering Free Training to AIA Chapters
The National Fire Sprinkler Association is a trade
association representing the fire protection industry nationally for over 100
years. NFSA manufactures or sells no products. Rather its mission is the
promotion of life safety and increased fire protection for the built
environment.
Over the last 5 years as part of that mission NFSA
has delivered over 150 no cost seminars to architectural students at 44
universities in 22 states. These seminars have been so well accepted they have
become part of the annual curriculum wherever presented. The seminars contain
highlights of the full Design Advantage Seminars delivered to practicing
architects nationwide for over 10 years.
Last year, the contracted rate for the Design
Advantage seminars was $3000.00 plus the cost of the textbooks. This year, due
to the receipt of a very generous grant to promote fire protection, NFSA
can offer this seminar at no charge to AIA Chapters.
It is being offered on a very limited basis so early scheduling is a
must.
This 6 hour seminar is based on the International
Building Code. It informs the designer on how to increase the fire protection of
their designs while controlling construction costs. It identifies and explains
over 100 design options which will permit design flexibility in all building
types. Included are actual case studies and interactive discussions and problem
solving exercises.
Extra
bonus every architect will receive a free copy of the 300
Page Multi-Code Fire Sprinkler Guide valued at $195.00 and used as the textbook
for the seminar.
